Welcome to the CERES Ocean Validation Experiment Home Page

COVE POSITION MAP: CLICK to view larger image. The Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES) experiment is one of the highest priority scientific satellite instruments developed for NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS). The CERES Ocean Validation Experiment (COVE) provided over 17 years of continuous world-class radiation measurements at the Chesapeake Light Station for validation of CERES and other satellite products. To our knowledge, no other ocean platform provided continuous atmospheric radiation measurements of a quality equal to COVE. The CERES Ocean Validation Experiment is now in its “post-analysis phase”.
